It's a DVD player with speakers. It has surround for your DVDs and one stereo (RCA) input for your TV and thats it. Again, only one analog RCA input. No other inputs and no digital inputs. This could be livable if the unit offered Dolby Prologic II for your TV input but this unit doesn't. It has the old Prologic surround for your TV input which is terrible for surround. No tweeter in the speakers. Their site had no information on the system (including model #), so I really took a flyer on it. As the previous commenter mentioned, it's a very basic stereo system, however the one I received has HDMI In/Out for Video and Audio, plus one RCA+Video Jack (Red/White + Yellow) and a USB port in the front. The Setup DVD that came with the system was decent at running you thru the various features and how to set it up. All speakers came with a good amount of wire, and surprisingly, the rear speakers came with about 50' of wire. Good thing, since the inputs in the back of the receiver use specialized connectors, so making your own would be difficult. By running the RCA cable from my TV out to the back of the receiver, any devices connected to the TV now come thru the Sony system. RCA isn't optimal (optical would have been better), but again, for the price it's tough to complain...
